It has felt like BioMutant was just a couple of months away from wrapping up development for a couple of years now, but finally, finally it has a release date. Yes, BioMutant comes to PlayStation 4 on 25th May 2021. A press release states that "more information on the game will be released in the next weeks and months". In true THQ Nordic fashion, the game will be available in various different versions, including a $399/Β£349 Atomic Edition.
The open-world title was announced all the way back at Gamescom 2017, meaning we've been waiting roughly three and a half years for it to actually see the light of day. Now attention will turn to sharing updated footage of the game running on PS4, and maybe even listing off a couple of enhancements for those lucky enough to own a PlayStation 5. We'll be sure to bring you that news whenever it happens.

I am beyond excited for this!! Canβt wait to jump into this world.
Jesus H Macy I almost forgot about this game.
Good to see it's almost here. Been eager to give it a go.
Day one purchase for me.
FINALLY. This piqued my interest from the first reveal.
I'm really interested to see some new gameplay. To see how much the game improved since we've last seen it.
Ooo I wonder if weβll get an update on WiLD too π
I just assumed it was an Xbox One exclusive, and that's why I stopped hearing things about it
Been waiting on this news for a long time! Hopefully it is just a fun world with satisfying gameplay, I'm limiting expectations at that and hoping for the best
N.i.c.e. getting it for my ps4 pro.word up son
Offtopic question but why doesn't pushsquare show thumb down votes ? Why have the system if you dont use it.
Man Q2 is looking busy for me. This, Outriders and Back4blood are my main hits. Cant wait.
Tbh I thought this had already come and gone and I just missed it. Hope is back up then!
Great news!! Have wanted this from the start ππ
@Gaming365247 I don't think it's a usual thumbs down/downvote type of thing, it's probably more to flag comments to admins that are bad or inappropriate.
Very Nice. And May is perfect. I have nothing for May on my list.
Another crossgen... This is disappointing. I wonder when we'll see more proper PS5 games that aren't weight down by PS4 compatibility. I'd like to have a reason to buy a ps5 once all the scalpers are rotting in hell.
I'd say there's about a 32.7% chance of it actually hitting that date lol! Has always looked a bit interesting and wierd at the same time. Can't wait until its finally out and folks can give some real impressions
@fR_eeBritney Fingers crossed. Seems like everyone in the world forgot about that game.
This one has been on my radar for a while. Hope it lives up to my hype for it.
@Gaming365247
My guess it works as a pacifier button, doesn't actually do anything, just makes the person pushing it feel like they have some control.
I don't expect much from this, to ambitious for the team, from the get go the sub-$60 price tag was a red flag, add in the delays and I think this will be pretty meh.
@Gaming365247 isn't youtube the same way?
Any reason a ps4 or xbox one version of the atomic edition will need an over sized mouse mat?
BioMutant will be the new Cyberpunk in terms of performance and scalability at launch...heard it here first!
@Boon520 Right. For some reason I though it was supposed to be a ps5 game. I suppose the PS5 should be seen as a PS4 Pro-Pro for the time being.
This must have passed me by, haven't heard of it, but will be interested to see what it's about.
@Rhaoulos This game has been supposed to be released for so long now. They probably thought they'd have it out well before next gen consoles. That's why it's PS4.
Nice, Might be my next game purchase, unless I can find a PS5.
I actually preordered the game back in September of 2019 when Target listed it as having a January 2020 release date. That came and went, and they eventually gave me my money back. I've just been waiting ever since then for news. Fingers crossed that this will be my final PS4 game I ever buy.
@pushL7 My understanding is itβs made by a core team of about 20 people, and itβs a pretty big game so itβs taking a while.
@Shepherd_Tallon hey, are you a Dance Gavin Dance fan or is that an actual interjection in English? π
(I'm not native, that's a genuine question lol)
Looking forward to this before i even had a ps4.
@clvr I had to Google Dance Gavin Dance just now to discover that the were a band π
I think I'm at that point in my life where I don't know who the popular bands are anymore π
But no, I'm not a fan. I might have heard that phrase said in a movie, or maybe it was an episode of Family Guy.
@Shepherd_Tallon ahahahahahah thanks for your reply!
I'm only asking you because, as a foreigner, sometimes I hear some expressions and don't understand if they're widely used or if they're some kind of in-joke in that particular context.
For example, if you google Jesus H. Macy, basically the only results are related to the DGD song (one of my least favorite, to be honest lol), so I thought it was an invention of theirs, but evidently they took it from somewhere else.
By the way don't worry if you've never heard of them, they're probably the biggest swancore band but it's a very niche subgenre so there's that π
Thanks for your reply, have a good one! π
@clvr I get you. But as far as I know it wouldn't be a widely used phrase.
I've just spent 15 minutes reading about swancore and where the term came from, lolol.
Blue Swan Records, if anyone's interested. I'm putting that down as my something new for today.
Have a good one!
@Shepherd_Tallon hey, I really appreciate your dedication π
I'm a very curious person and I do that all the time with the most disparate stuff, so I appreciate you researching something you don't even care about π
And yes, Blue Swan Records was founded by Will Swan, the lead guitarist in DGD, who more or less invented that style and then went on to sign a lot of smaller bands with a similar style under his label.
So you could say it's swan as in Will Swan or as in Blue Swan, and both would be correct π
If you're wondering what it sounds like, it's more or less post-hardcore mixed with math rock, funk and a whole lot of other weird stuff lol
It was nice talking to you, have a good one too mate!
I love the look of this, but I've learned anything in my time on this blue Earth it's "wait for reviews".
Hopefully the release date sticks and the game has no delays...I still remember seeing the first gameplay for Biomutant and being excited.
